The rules that apply when you place a pre-order with PreKart.
PreKart is a pre-order service operating in the Maldives. We find and buy products on your behalf from overseas suppliers, handle international shipping and customs clearance, and deliver to you in Malé, Hulhumalé or to your boat for onward island delivery.
By placing an order you confirm you are at least 18 years old and that the details you give us are accurate.
Every item on PreKart is a pre-order. Nothing is held in a warehouse in the Maldives at the time you order. You pay a 50% advance payment to confirm the order, and the remaining 50% balance when the item is delivered to you.
Stock figures shown on the site reflect what our suppliers have available at the time of listing. If an item becomes unavailable after you order, we will contact you and refund your advance payment in full.
All prices are shown in Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) and include the item, international shipping, customs duty and our service fee. There are no additional charges added at delivery.
The price is fixed at the moment your order is confirmed. Currency movement, freight increases or duty changes after that point are absorbed by us and will not be passed on to you.
Our standard timeline is approximately 50 days from order confirmation to delivery. This is an estimate, not a guarantee. Shipping delays, customs inspections and supplier production times can extend it.
If your order will be materially delayed beyond the estimate, we will notify you and you may choose to wait or cancel for a full refund of your advance payment.
The 50% advance payment is payable by bank transfer at the time of ordering. Your order is confirmed once we have verified the transfer. Card payment will be added in future.
The 50% balance is due on delivery. We cannot release goods before the balance is settled.
If an item arrives damaged or defective, tell us within 48 hours of delivery with photographs. We will replace the item or refund you in full, including any amount already paid.
This covers transit damage and manufacturing defects. It does not cover damage caused after delivery.
When your item arrives we notify you by your registered mobile number and in your PreKart account. Please accept delivery within 1 day. Storage charges apply for each extra day. If you need more time, contact us and we will help arrange it.
If we receive no response within 5 days, PreKart reserves the right to resell the item, and the customer will receive 50% of the advance payment.
Please inspect your product at the time of delivery. Once delivered, items cannot be returned.
Please notify PreKart of any change to your delivery address. If your address is invalid and we are unable to reach you, PreKart reserves the right to resell the item.
Where you ask us to find an item from a photograph, we will provide a written quote before any payment is taken. The quote is based on the supplier listing available at that time and is valid for 7 days.
Colour, finish and minor specification differences between the photo you send and the item we find are possible. We will confirm the exact listing with you before ordering.
Our liability in respect of any order is limited to the total amount you have paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of use or delay-related costs.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives, and the courts of the Maldives have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

What we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
When you place an order we collect your name, phone number, email address, delivery address or island, and where relevant your boat name and the name of the person collecting the order.
When you ask us to find a product we collect the photograph or link you send and any notes you add.
We do not collect or store card numbers. Bank transfers are made directly to our account through your own banking app.
We use your contact details to confirm your order, keep you updated on its progress and arrange delivery. We use your address and boat details solely to deliver your order.
We may use your email address to send order updates. We will not add you to marketing lists without your consent, and every marketing message will include an unsubscribe link.
We share the minimum necessary information with our shipping and freight partners and with customs authorities, because that is required to bring your order into the country.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Order records are kept for as long as needed to support warranty and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and personal details at any time, subject to those obligations.
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@prekart.mv and we will respond within 30 days.
PreKart stores a small amount of data in your browser to keep your session and cart working. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

When you can cancel, when you get your money back, and how long it takes.
You can cancel at any time before we place the order with the supplier and receive a full refund of your advance payment, no questions asked. In practice this is usually within 48 hours of your order being confirmed.
To cancel, message us with your order reference.
Once we have placed the order with the supplier and paid for it, the advance payment becomes non-refundable, because we have already committed the funds on your behalf.
We will always tell you when this point is reached. If you cancel after this, we will try to resell the item and refund what we recover, but we cannot guarantee it.
If we are unable to find or deliver your item for any reason — supplier failure, customs refusal, or a shipping loss — you receive a full refund of everything you have paid. This is our money-back guarantee and it has no exceptions.
Report damage or defects within 48 hours of delivery with photographs. We will replace the item at no cost, or refund you in full including the advance payment and balance. You do not pay return shipping.
If we deliver something other than what you ordered, we will collect it and either supply the correct item or refund you in full. The choice is yours.
Because every item is bought specifically for you, we cannot accept returns for change of mind once an item has been delivered in good condition.
Refunds are paid by bank transfer to the account the advance payment came from, within 7 working days of the refund being agreed. We will send you confirmation once it is sent.

Everything on PreKart is pre-order. You pay a 50% advance payment to confirm your order, we buy and ship your items, and they're delivered around 50 days after confirmation. You pay the remaining 50% balance when you receive your order.
Delivery is estimated at around 50 days from the date your order is confirmed — an estimate, not a guarantee, as shipping, customs and supplier delays can affect it. If an order will be materially delayed, we'll keep you updated. You can track progress anytime from "My orders", and we deliver across Malé, Hulhumalé and other islands.
Use "Send us a photo" to send us a picture or a link plus the quantity. We'll find it and send you a quote — once you confirm and pay, it follows the same pre-order flow.
You pay a 50% deposit by bank transfer to confirm (card coming soon), and the remaining 50% balance when your order is delivered.
Everything. The price you see covers the item itself, international shipping, customs clearance and our service fee. There are no extra charges at checkout or on delivery — and your price is locked from the moment you order.
If we can't find or deliver your order for any reason, your 50% deposit is refunded in full — our deposit-back guarantee. You never lose money on an order we can't complete.
Damage is fully covered. If your item arrives damaged, we'll arrange a full replacement or a full refund — whichever you prefer.
